It's 2018 and it's time to lay down some goals, populate the diary and note down any future appointments. But, if you're anything like me, you need a physical diary to do those things. I can honestly say that I haven't really tried using my phone calendar; I don't think I ever will. I've been a paper planner lady my whole life. I also collect my diaries as odes to years' past.
I've always been a Kikki K gal when it came to diaries, but when I saw this Bianca Cash Datekeeper on Etsy I knew I had to have it. It was everything I was looking for in a planner. So, I thought I'd share some tips on how I stay organised in case that's your new year's resolution this year!
There's nothing better than seeing your week ahead, so that you know what you're in for. What I do to to get a full snapshot of what my week looks like is use highlighters for specific things. When I see words and letters, they remind me of colours so this is really helpful when I need to remember certain things. I use green highlighter for any money related things; marking pay days or scheduled direct debits. I use blue highlighter for any work related things; annual leave, early starts or meetings. I used pink highlighter for pilates classes I book for the week and yellow highlighter for social stuff.
Sometimes, your phone dies and you need to write something down. Or, you simply need to write something down because you're on the phone. I use my notes section quite often especially if I've forgotten to pack a notebook to a meeting or need to jot down my next dentist appointment for the following year. What I really love about this diary is that its notes section is split by quirky headings like, 'weekend adventure ideas' and 'plant species I don't want to forget' - super cute.
There's nothing worse than lugging a giant diary around. The last few years I've gone for a smaller size diary so it fits in my everyday tote bag. Just like your wallet, keys and phone, your diary needs to go places with you.
