Honeysuckle & Lavender Sea Salt Body Scrub.

Tuesday, October 1, 2013

For those of you in the southern hemisphere, summer will be well on it's way so why not start prepping your skin to look its best?

I've created my own Honeysuckle and Lavender Sea Salt Body Scrub to help me get that glowing skin this season! Honeysuckle is great for circulation, calms irritated skin, reduces inflammation, promotes positive thoughts and did I mention it smells amazing. What's great about lavender is that it reduces inflammation too and its great to use in the shower because its a natural antiseptic! So, I mixed these two essential oils together with sea salt to create a body scrub! Sea salt is great for removing dead skin and the oils and salt will help the new skin look polished and feel soft - remember to moisturise after your scrub so your skin can feel even softer!

You can mix together a orange and peppermint essential oil to create a nice foot scrub - the ideas are endless and what's best, is that this scrub is cheap to make! The sea salt cost me $2.00 and the essential oils were $2.00 and $4.00, the rest I had at home!

FYI: I'm not a master in essential oils, I looked up essential oils properties online and decided that way. While researching, I read that if you're pregnant its probably not best to use essential oils (or specific ones) so check with your doctor before making this scrub or anything else with essential oils.

What you need:
1. Sea Salt
2. Essential Oils (I used Honeysuckle and Lavender, you can chose whatever ones you like)
3. Vegetable oil (or any oil you may have, grapeseed oil is a great choice too)
4. Jar (I used an old candle jar)
5. Mixing bowl
6. Spoon

I measured how much sea salt would fit in my container first before adding anything - just so I wasn't using too much.

I poured the sea salt in the mixing bowl.

Add 1/3 cup of vegetable oil (or whatever oil you're using).
Add your essential oils (I used about 2 tbs for each oil however, you can choose how strong you want the scrub to smell).
Mix it all together.

Put the body scrub into your jar and you're ready to start scrubbin!

Love you all!
